این استودیو که یکی از زیر مجموعه های کمپانی بزرگ Ubisoft محسوب می‌شود پیش از این نیز در ساخت نسخه سوم سری و همچنین عناوین Rogue، Revelations و Unity مشارکت داشته است. از زمانی که Ubisoft تصمیم به انتشار سالیانه این سری گرفت شاهد افت نسبی بازی و کاهش رضایت برخی از طرفداران بودیم. این موارد در نسخه Unity به اوج خود رسید و خشم طرفداران دو آتشه سری را بر انگیخت.

پس از رخ دادن این موارد عده ای از منتقدین و بازیکنان انتطار داشتند تا Ubisoft برای بهبود کیفیت نسخه بعدی حداقل یک سال به این فرنچایز استراحت دهد با این حال مدیران این کمپانی هیچ تمایلی به انجام دادن چنین کاری نداشتند و با فاصله کوتاهی عنوان Syndicate را معرفی کردند.

همانطور که اطلاع دارید، Ubisoft برنامه های گسترده ای برای سری پر طرفدار خود دارد و در سال جاری بسته الحاقی Dead Kings را برای عنوان Unity و نسخه فرعی Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China را که یک عنوان دو بعدی و Side Scroller بود را منتشر کرد. بسته الحاقی Dead Kings برای دارندگان عنوان Unity رایگان بود. قرار بود که از سری فرعی Chronicles دو عنوان دیگر با نام های چین و روسیه نیز در سال 2015 منتشر شوند اما ظاهرا یوبیسافت در حال حاظر عجله ای برای انتشار این دو عنوان فرعی ندارد و تمام توجه خود را به Syndicate معطوف کرده است.
